Is your site secure?

Yes. You pay through PayPal, the world's premier electronic payment solution, not through this site. We never even see your credit card number; PayPal just tells us that you've paid and we ship you your stuff. We get your money through PayPal later.

Do I have to have a PayPal account to buy?

No, you can pay with your credit card without a PayPal account.

Can I pay by check or money order?

Yes, I will also accept check or money orders. Just e-mail me which piece(s) you wish to purchase along with your name and address.  Make your checks/money orders payable to "Laura Hepworth." I will e-mail you with the address to send payment to.  If paying by check/money order, please allow up to ten days for payment to clear.  Orders will be shipped once payment has cleared and an e-mail sent to let you know that your order has been shipped.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes.  I ship either international First Class or using International Flat Rate Priority Mail boxes, for information on international shipping costs please look at the Store Policies.  Before ordering, please be sure that your country can receive the item(s) you are ordering as some countries have restrictions on sterling silver entering their borders.  Also you will be responsible for paying any customs and duties taxes that may apply please check with your local post office before ordering to know if any such charges may apply.

Do you do custom orders?

Yes!  I am always happy to consider a custom order.

What materials do you use?

Primarily, I work in copper, enameled copper, and sterling silver.  However, I have also worked in brass, stainless steel, aluminum, anodized aluminum, 14kt gold-filled, and tantalum.  I am no longer working in brass, stainless steel, aluminum, or anodized aluminum except by request.  Other materials, such as solid gold, niobium, or titanium, are presently available only by request.

Do you make chainmaille clothing or armour?

No, however if you are interested in such items I do know of some fellow maillers I can refer you to.

I found a piece I like, but it's too big/small. Can you resize it for me?

Yes!  I'd be happy to resize any of my listings to the size you need. Due to metal costs, pieces in sterling silver, gold-fill, or tantalum will need a price adjustment if increasing the size.  There is no additional fee for resizing copper pieces unless the size is being increased by 1 inch or greater.

Is it really all handmade?

Yes.  Every link, no matter the size, has been coiled and cut by hand.   Most every clasp used has also been handmade, as well as, the stone settings (cabochon and faceted).

What is Steampunk?

Steampunk has often been described as Victorian futurism.  It is the imagining of how the present or the future could have been like had the level and methods of technolog (as well as, artistic and fashion aesthic) had remained what it was in the Victorian era.  It is a combination of Victoriana and science fiction.  Instead of the historical re-enactment of SCA, Civil War re-enactment groups, Renaissance Faires, and other living history organizations, Steampunk can be considered historical re-invention.

Wholesale or consignment orders?

Yes. If you are a store or gallery owner and are interested in carrying my jewelry, please send me an e-mail and we can discuss the terms.

Do you buy old or broken jewelry lots?

Yes! Among the techniques/styles of jewelry that I create is Steampunk and upcycled jewelry, so I am always on the look out for interesting old pieces of jewelry to incorporate into my work.  If you have any old jewelry (whether intact or broken; large quantity or small) that you don't know what to do with and would be interested in selling then send me an e-mail subject heading "old jewelry lot" with pictures attached and I will get back to you to let you know whether or not I am interested in them and to discuss an offer.
